257 has not been forth coming about the reletting process during the Covid pandemic. I had a relet, and they required 3 months rent up front, which is unheard of. First and last months rent is standard.
Furthermore, I got an email saying my lease for next year officially went through in the midst of the pandemic - this is the lease that I was pressured into signing much earlier in the year. Had I known the lease hadn't gone through I would have tried to void it, because of how much money I am loosing through not being able to re-let the apartment.
257 has not been upfront about the reletting process and have shown little flexibility and humanity during the pandemic. I understand now why most people go behind 257's back to sublet their rooms. It is borderline in humane to require 3 months rent up front for a 5 month relet during an emergency in a global pandemic.
And then on top of that, to push through a lease months after it was signed during a pandemic.
I have been tryin to relet my apartment again, and neither me or my re-letter have been able to reach 257 in a timely manner. I have been left completely in the dark during the process and have no idea if I will be loosing another $1,000 next month due to a re-letting failure again.
257 was great before the pandemic but I have been extremely disappointed at 257's response during Covid-19 and their poor communication. For this reason I would not recommend 257 to a friend.
